BIPOC & First-Generation Immigrant Counselling

Nomii Therapy & Wellness provides culturally responsive therapy for individuals navigating the intersection of racial identity, cultural experiences and expectations,, intergenerational trauma in North Vancouver and virtually across British Columbia.

BIPOC Counselling and First-Generation Immigrant Counselling

Do you find yourself torn between two cultures, unsure where you truly belong? At Nomii Therapy & Wellness we understand that for many BIPOC individuals, our experiences with mental health can be shaped by a multitude of additional stressors such as racial trauma, microaggressions, cultural expectations, belonging and identity concerns, and intergenerational or historical trauma. Many BIPOC and first-generation immigrant clients carry the weight of discrimination, generational and cultural conflict, and the quiet grief of no longer feeling fully "home" anywhere. At Nomii, we know that a "Western" approach to therapy can itself feel like a barrier — so our sessions are grounded in cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and an anti-oppressive understanding of the systems that shape your everyday life. Together, we make room for the generational trauma you may carry, while also honouring the resilience you've inherited alongside it.

Finding a therapist who understands your lived experience can feel next to impossible, and our therapists aim to remove that barrier. If you're ready to talk to someone who gets it, our trained therapists would love to connect.
