Somatic Trauma & Attachment Therapy in North Vancouver & Online Across BC
Sometimes you understand your patterns intellectually but still struggle to make any changes. You’ve survived and moved past the trauma, so why do you continue to feel triggered? It can feel frustrating, hopeless and stuck.
Somatic trauma and attachment-based therapy helps you understand what is happening beneath the surface, how your nervous system responds, how past experiences shape your relationships, and why certain patterns can feel so difficult to shift.
At Nomii, we use these approaches to help you build greater awareness, regulation, connection, and make real choices that lead to change.
Trauma therapy that looks beneath the pattern, to your body, your relationships, and what has shaped you.
Somatic Trauma & Attachment-Based Therapy
At the core of Nomii’s work is an understanding that healing happens not only through insight, but through the body and relationships.
Somatic trauma and attachment-based therapy focuses on how trauma and life experiences are held in the nervous system and expressed through patterns of connection, emotion, and response. When trauma and stress overwhelms the nervous system’s ability to cope, the stress response cycle and become stuck and unfinished, which gets stored in your body. You might find yourself brought back to the trauma incident by seemingly small triggers that evoke an intense emotional reaction that doesn’t fit the present moment. This is because your body hasn’t been able to update it’s information processing system so it still reacts to the past as if it is in the present. By gently tuning into bodily cues and relational dynamics, we help clients build awareness, regulation, and choice.
This approach is especially supportive for trauma, chronic stress, relationship challenges, and experiences shaped by systemic or cultural factors. It allows change to happen at a pace that feels safe, grounded, and sustainable.
Rather than pushing through or bypassing, we work with what’s present - building capacity from the inside out.
